The Spanish Picos de Europa National Park is also known for having a hiking trail considered the most beautiful in Spain, including the islands. It’s called Senda del Río Cares, named after the Cares River, over which the canyon trail runs. Whether it is the most beautiful Spanish – we cannot judge, but clearly, it is unique. We have not walked like this in the tens of years we have been “running” in the mountains. Preparing for this hiking trail mainly meant figuring out the logistics, as we traveled by motor home.
