The Dolomites are known not only for their beautiful mountain massifs but also for their amazing turquoise lakes. Lago Federa is one of them. The hike to it is one of the easier ones. And it is also enjoyable that roadside parking is allowed at the trailhead.

The “Lago di Braies” (Italian) or “Pragser Wildsee” (German) lake is a popular tourist destination that attracts visitors for the blue/emerald green color of its clear waters and for the natural scenery in which it is immersed. The lake is surrounded on three sides by Dolomite peaks and is located within the Franes – Sennes – Prags Nature Park.
