The Grand Canyon must be seen to be appreciated. Its beauty is indescribable. The equally beautiful Colorado River flows through the canyon on its 447 km long section. Up to 30 km wide and almost 2 km deep, the Grand Canyon is sure to instill a sense of wonder in all who visit. The Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular examples of erosion anywhere in the world—unmatched by the incomparable vistas it offers visitors from the rim.
On our visit, we managed to get a permit to camp overnight at the bottom of the canyon by the Colorado River. And so we were able to make one of the most beautiful descents and ascents that this planet has to offer lovers of natural beauty. We chose the South Kaibab Trail starting on the South Rim for the descent, and after spending the night at the Bright Angel Campground, the next day we made a challenging ascent back up to the South Rim of the canyon on a trail called the Bright Angel Trail.
A life experience that cannot be described in words…
