Skywalk
Nature Park Hohe Wand is a part of the mountain ridge in the Vienna Alps and is an amazing paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, climbers, and paragliders as well. It is a total of 8 km long, 2.5 km wide, and up to 1,132 m high. There are about one thousand walking, cycling, and climbing routes…
Its rocky cliffs, up to 230 meters high, drop away to the southeast, exposed to the so-called “New World”. In the limestone rock are several caves, both large and small, such as the Czerny Cave or Unicorn Cave.
The famous Skywalk viewing terrace built in 2002 offers a spectacular view. The Skywalk represents a unique platform that stretches roughly 8 meters across the crag, reaching depths down to 150 meters. Standing on it, we have a fantastic view from the 18-meter-high viewing tower. From here you can see as far as Lake Neusiedl, the Schneeberg, and the Alpine foothills.
The visitor center situated next to the main parking lot offers many attractions for families with children like a petting zoo, playground, animal enclosures, forest learning trail, llama walks, and countless easy walking routes that are accessible with wheelchairs.
There are many restaurants serving excellent food. Arriving by car takes you via the toll (2 Eur during weekends and holidays only) road. The toll mountain road has a gradient of up to 14% which is an important notice for camper travelers. The entry ticket to the nature park is 2,50 Eur per adult person and 1,00 Eur per child up to 15. The nature park Hohe Wand is open all year round.

Attractions & Recommendation
We definitively recommend visiting Hohe Wand Nature Park. It is camper-friendly and a popular destination as well for every day. Mountain bikers, hikers, climbers, paragliders, animal lovers, families with children, nature photographers, connoisseurs … they all really appreciate the wooded plateau in the Vienna Alps. Without great effort, you can take the mountain road built in 1932 to around 1,000 m above sea level. The various circular hiking trails lead to the most beautiful places – the observation tower, rock path, or the Skywalk observation terrace provide fascinating views. On days with good weather and wind, paragliders fly through the air. Hohe Wand Nature Park offers an unforgettable experience for all kinds of visitors! And it should also be mentioned that the visit can be combined with a visit to the Schneeberg area due to its proximity only tens of kilometers away.
Enjoy!
