Hochschwanstein Castle, Germany

Only a few tens of kilometers from the Zugspitze area is the world-famous and iconic Neuschwanstein Castle. And so, after the demanding ascent to the Zugspitze, an undemanding program in the form of a visit to the surroundings of this castle came in handy. As is the case with various popular attractions, especially when traveling by motorhome, it is necessary to find out the parking options first. And fortunately, the small town of Hohenschwangau, from which the castle walk starts, has it. It is marked as P2, its coordinates are given in the description of the photos. In addition to the castle itself, the Marienbrücke bridge, built at a height of 90m above the Pöllat gorge, is perhaps an even bigger attraction. In total, there are nine viewpoints of Neuschwanstein Castle in the vicinity, which are described on their website. We discovered one of them. And unlike the immediate surroundings of the castle and the bridge itself with hundreds of people, we were alone at this vantage point. Of course, it’s not free, you have to walk maybe 1 to 2 km more…
