Hike to Alberta Falls and Sky Pond below Andrews Glacier in Rocky Mountains National Park, Colorado

The hike to Sky Pond in Rocky Mountains National Park begins from the Glacier Gorge Trailhead located on Bear Lake Road. After almost 1.5 km, we reached Alberta Falls, one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Rockies. After another 4 km, we reached the base of Timberline Falls. From here, the trail continues up a chute to the right of the falls. This is an enough challenging scramble, requiring hand holds and the use of all four limbs when descending on return.

After that scramble, we reached the Lake of Glass with outstanding views of Taylor Peak and Powell Peak. Shortly after we discovered our destination Sky Pond Lake with spectacular views surrounded on three sides by sheer cliff walls. It was a beautiful hike!
