La Cueva de las Palomas in Valencia region, Spain

The Valencia region is rich in natural beauty, such as waterfalls and caves. You just have to choose. We chose this cave. It’s called La Cueva de las Palomas. And we didn’t regret it. We chose to arrive from the town of Buñol. We followed the signs carefully since we found very little information about motorhome access options.

The road was very narrow but manageable for the last few kilometers. However, we preferred to inspect the last approximately 500 m in person beforehand.

And then, we came to a beautiful, panoramic spot where we could easily park, which was almost empty. We couldn’t believe our eyes.

It was this recreational area. GPS: 39.401022, -0.798957

So, just  45 minutes from Valencia and near Yátova, we discovered the natural charm of the Cueva de las Palomas. This remarkable place gathers in a reduced space with waterfalls, water pools, and a rich biodiversity of local flora and fauna. The Cueva de las Palomas is home to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Valencian Comunitat, 20 meters high, and is part of the river Juanes. This cave is a marvel, showcasing unique geological features and a glimpse into the region’s rich natural history.

Only on the way back did we notice this sign on a miniature railing. Unfortunately, we did not understand enough which area it refers to. But it is nothing new generally in European countries. We often do not understand or notice the rules in a particular area despite our best efforts to respect the rules in a particular area.
