The famous Macocha Abyss is more than 138 m deep, and it is the biggest gorge of its kind in the Czech Republic and even in Central Europe. It was created by the fall of the ceiling of a huge cave hole. Underground River Punkva is made by several local brooks, which became more significant rivers underground. Macocha Abyss is the only place where the Punkva River goes to daylight. The cave complex is made of more than 30 kilometers of underground passages partly filled with water. Trail details here.
