Pukaskwa National Park in Ontario

 

 

We used to say that our biggest boss, by far, is the weather. It changed our travel plans many, many times. And so it was in the case of Lake Superior Provincial Park. We had planned to walk a few hiking trails in its territory, but the high temperatures and humidity literally drove us away. We are not fans of hot, humid weather, and we always try to avoid areas with it. On the other hand, it means we have to leave out many wonderful and nice areas.

 

We were sorry to see Lake Superior only from the cool inside of our vehicle.

 

 

So we drove north to Pukaskwa National Park. It welcomed us with a pleasant temperature of around 19 degrees. And as always, we stayed at the wonderful, quiet, and pleasant campground of this national park.

 

On the territory of the national park, there are many hiking trails. The park also offers water sports like kayaking.

 

 

And we literally enjoyed its coastal trails in such weather. First, in foggy weather, when some sections seemed scary. And the next day in sunny weather with acceptable temperatures.

 

The nature in Pukaskwa National Park was beautiful, and we enjoyed it together with the pleasant campground next to the visitor center.

Anyway, we can’t wait for the real mountains and are looking forward to Banff, Kootenay, Jasper… However, we have a long way to go.
